Kevin Osborne is a social entrepreneur, who has spent the last 30 years as a leader, producer and developer in the arts and creative industries supporting BAME talent. His latest project is Create Equity, whose social mission is to make investment in the arts, social enterprise and commercial industries racially equitable.
The Create Equity 2031 campaign – a decade to change what should have changed decades ago.
After decades of under-investment, founders from racially diverse communities deserve to be funded fairly by grant funders, social investors and VC funds. By adopting the Create Equity 2031 Pledge, we’re asking signatories to commit to funding in proportion to the UK’s BAME population by 2031. We want to encourage government bodies, local authorities, public funders, trusts, foundations and major commercial sponsors to distribute their funds equitably. We’re calling for more accountability for fair funding and will challenge funders where they take no action. We ask funders to share their learnings with the wider world in order to make change visible, reframe the conversation and level-up the funding landscape.

The Create Equity Fund (CEF) will invest in businesses embracing the potential of Britain’s diversity.
